The Royal Arcade is the oldest retail arcade in Australia. Its history can be traced back to 1837 when Joseph Moore bought the land.
In 1868 a competition was held for the design of the Royal Arcade building and was won by Charles Webb and construction was commenced on the 4th of June 1869. The Arcade was officially opened by Charles Amess, Lord Mayor of Melbourne, 2nd May 1870.

Today Royal Arcade offers a whole range of interesting and delightful stores where shoppers can find a wide variety of items of their choice. You can shop here for the entire family for its stores offers something for everyone. You will find famous jewelry stores including antique jewelers, to food, clothing, cosmetics and game stores, and right through to interesting and exotic stores, such as tarot reading and Russian dolls.
