Melbourne International Comedy Festival

This is one of the three largest comedy festivals in the world. This festival presents a laugh riot which will leave your sides aching.

The Comedy festival showcases the talent of both established and upcoming comedians from Australia and abroad. Spanning over three weeks, it provides you weeks of fun and excitement when you can forget the fever and fret of life and simply laugh all the way.

The Festival was launched in Melbourne in 1987 by Barry Humphries and Peter Cook. The Melbourne International Comedy Festival takes place annually, for a month in autumn. They present a huge program of stand up comedy, cabaret, theatre, street performance, film, television, radio and visual arts throughout the Australian city of Melbourne.

Over 300 thousand people have attended the Festival each year for the past three years, with record numbers achieved at the 2003 Festival.
