It was a palace of dreams, a lavish venue for entertainment. It is renowned for its opulence. This movie palace began life in 1929. It is reminiscent of the theaters West End of London. This theater has plenty of leg room something which is absent in modern day theaters.

It hosts a range of events ranging from popular musicals to pop concerts. Binoculars can be hired. Admission: Prices vary according to performance, time, seats chosen, etc.

Reopened in 1996, following 3 years of meticulous restoration work, the Regent Theatre has hosted a diverse range of productions, from musicals, internationally acclaimed singers and magicians, to chart- topping rock bands, cinema screenings and organ performances featuring the magnificent 35- rank WurliTzer Organ.

It has witnessed a chequered history. When it opened it served as a venue to host both films and live entertainment. This grand hall with its lavish décor which seems to transfer you to far off times was a great draw but it fell a victim to fire in 1945.
